Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Test – The official video game

I had the chance to play the Sega video game from the Tokyo Olympics! So here is my review of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game!

My hands still remember the blisters I had on my fingers from pressing the controller buttons on my Sega Master System 2 and Sega Mega Drive! The cause of these blisters? Video games offering participation in the Olympic Games events! Already at the time, these video games were arcade in its purest form, good fun with family and friends, in short the ideal game to bring out to liven up our evenings! Almost 30 years later, thanks to the support ofKoch Media, I'm going to dive back into a video game offering to participate in the next Tokyo Olympics!  So here is my test ofTokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game

Because of this damn Covid virus, the Tokyo Olympics unfortunately did not take place in 2020! It is therefore in a few short days that the greatest Athletes from around the world will be able to compete in different Olympic events. The video game, Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game begins by choosing your country, and customizing your athlete to the extreme so that he looks like us, but also why not to give him a completely W.T.F. look. The Avatar editing tool is really well designed, it is as complete (or even more) than the one offered in The Sims!

The menu of the official video game of the Tokyo Olympics is colorful, intuitive and easy to access. It offers various modes, such as training mode, ranked mode, “Olympic games” mode, which is difficult to say any clearer. As explained above Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game is a 100% arcade oriented game. I prefer to warn. Fans of sports simulations move on! Here it's pure arcade juice, very naughty and very fun.

Before the start of each Olympic event, a small page appears to present the gameplay of the game. For example, for the 100m, the hurdle jump, the long jump, you have to press the appropriate pad button many times, as quickly as possible, and interact at the right time! It brings back memories, doesn’t it? :p For football, basketball, rugby, tennis, beach volleyball it's more classic but it's always in the tone of fun and arcade. Swimming, climbing, boxing, baseball, table tennis, shot put, it takes a little time to adapt, but it’s manageable :) . In short, the gameplay on the Xbox One pad is well balanced, I don't have any blisters on my fingers yet!!! Obviously there are events that I liked more or less. It depends on the tastes of each player in terms of sport!

Graphically Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game is a very clean and smooth video game! It's colorful, the look of the athletes is fun, we're looking at a good Sega Arcade game. This video game is available on all video game consoles but also on PC. I play it personally on Xbox Series X, it works perfectly well. I also saw it on Nintendo Switch and PS4, frankly Tokyo Olympics 2020 – The official video game runs well regardless of the console. Sega has done a good job of optimization. The sound part is nice and dubbed in French! Well, I first played alone against the A.I., just to get my hands on the different tests. Then I suggested to my partner that we play it. I had a lot of fun there 🙂 . Anything goes, may the best win eh??? ^^. I also played online against real players, and I can assure you that there are already some great virtual athletes! You doubt it Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game takes off when you play with several people. It’s clearly a very fun party game to play with several people. I really enjoy playing the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game!

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games – The official video game is a good arcade video game, simple accessible and effective which provides immediate pleasure! This is the video game to put in everyone's hands and to offer in the evening with the family or during aperitifs with friends! This video game is the perfect remedy in case of confinement 🙂
