I had this video game for a long time in my back catalog of games that I still hadn't tried! That’s what it’s like to be a compulsive buyer, I’m clearly not being reasonable! I took advantage of the weekend to test thisAsterix & Obélix Slap Them All on Nintendo Switchwith my two boys aged 6 and 9! This goes back to my very first Asterix video game, it was on Sega master System 2! Yes, I am a dinosaur and I accept it 😀
After episodes of Asterix video games, in XXL edition, this Asterix & Obélix Slap them all, abandon the three-dimensional graphics to return to good old 2D which fits him like a glove! Visually it’s a subtle mix between comics and the cartoons of my childhood. It's really magnificent, the graphics are superb, it's a very nice tribute to Asterix and Obelix! In addition to being beautiful, Asterix & Obélix Baffez them all is fluid, even on my Nintendo Switch! I feared that the game would drag to death on Nintendo's hybrid portable console but ultimately Asterix & Obélix Slap them all, does well. There are a few rare moments where the game shows weaknesses in terms of speed, but nothing too bad, don't worry
Pad in hand, Asterix and Obelix respond to the finger and the eye, the gameplay is immediate and we enjoy progressing and discovering the other classic and special moves. The resemblance with Street Of Rage is obvious and honestly this formula goes well in this video game Asterix and Obelix slap them all. This video game is clearly Beat’em All oriented and is really very pleasant to play alone or with others. The game is quite extensive, you can count on 6 chapters for a total of around fifty levels. Asterix & Obélix Baffez les tous, offers different levels of difficulty, the game is accessible for all types of players, from casual or beginner players, as well as specialists in the Beat’em All genre. We're not going to lie, even if this Asterix & Obelix is consistent but also fun, it still remains repetitive. It’s a shame that the small missions between fights aren’t more inspired. Concerning the Audio part, we recognize the music from the cartoons but also the voices of our dear Asterix and Obelix! It's a shame, however, that certain parts of the game, I'm thinking of the cutscenes via the comic-style fixed shots, do not feature the voices of our Gauls!
My verdict!
Although a little repetitive (this is its main fault), this Asterix & Obélix Baffez les tous, is a good video game, like Street Of Rage, the diehard Gallic version! It's very fun to play, and with two people in local cooperative it's a great delirium! I had a great time on it with my sons by Toutatis!
