Test Guardians of the Galaxy on Xbox Series

For once, it was thanks to Xbox Game Pass that I discovered this Guardians of the Galaxy video game. The opportunity was too good to miss this video game and despite a few lengths I had a good time!

Unlike Marvel’s Avengers which is multi-player oriented, the video gameGuardians of the Galaxyexclusively offers a 100% solo adventure. This video game swims against the current trends of connected video games, service games and 100% online, which does not displease me. The Guardians of the Galaxy video game follows the adventures of Star Lord and his crazy team made up of Groot, Drax, Gamora (Thanos' daughter) and Rocket. Obviously, as with every Marvel adventure, the Star Lord team will have to face a great danger that threatens to destroy the universe. This danger is a sect “the church” which indoctrinates people using the “promise”. That's it for the scenario.

The Guardians of the Galaxy video game is action adventure oriented. We continue the exploration/platform phases, with action/adventure scenes and epic battles in real time. If you have played Tomb Raider you will find a lot of similarities, especially in terms of gameplay. This Guardians of the Galaxy game does not reinvent the wheel and does not innovate, neither in its gameplay nor in its game mechanics. It is a (great) classic. Fortunately the staging is careful, as is the writing of this story. He stands out from the crowd, thanks to an omnipresent humor that hits the mark! I had a lot of fun throughout this adventure.

Pad in hand, it's very good, there's nothing to complain about, we move on without any problem, Star Lord steers perfectly well. Graphically it's very nice, sometimes it feels like you're following a Marvel film. Guardian of the Galaxy obliges, the music is cult and smells of the 80s for my greatest happiness. The quality of the VF is there, it’s good work. Concerning the lifespan, it still takes quite a few hours to complete the 16 chapters offered in this action adventure video game. That’s what bothered me. I find this video game too long for what it offers. It’s often repetitive and everything is predictable and classic in this Guardians of the Galaxy video game. It lacks inspiration and originality.

I enjoyed playing the Guardians of the Galaxy video game. Despite these lengths and its lack of originality, I had a good time! I loved its crazy humor, its well-balanced gameplay (especially during the fights), its cult music and its Marvel-style atmosphere. Don’t hesitate to play this Guardians of the Galaxy video game while it’s still available in the Xbox Game Pass subscription! FYI, the Guardians of the Galaxy video game is also available on PS4 PS5 Xbox One and PC.
