Does Sonic Pocket Adventure mean anything to you? Probably not! Many people don't know the existence of this Sonic! In fact it was available at the time on the SNK Neo Geo Pocket! Here is my quick test!
SNK IS STRONGER THAN YOU
What's better than a Sonic game on SNK's portable console, the Neo Geo Pocket Color? Even if this Neo Geo Pocket did not break through against the monopoly of the Game Boy, it was nonetheless an excellent portable console! So let's get back to this Sonic Pocket Adventure! During the first minutes of play I was immediately reassured by the quality of this Sonic. Perfectly manageable, in particular thanks to the very good ergonomics of the console, it is also fast, even if there are some slowdowns when Sonic is at full speed! Nothing too annoying though! Graphically this Sonic Pocket Adventure aims for 2D nostalgia and the golden age of Sonic from the superb Sega Megadrive! There are worse references!
BEST PORTABLE SONIC?
A nice thing about this Sonic Pocket Adventure is that the game saves once the level is completed! Even after a Game Over it is therefore not necessary to start again from the start of the game. This is very practical and ideal for games on a portable console! Obviously this Sonic Pocket Adventure is frankly easier than the Sega Megadrive Sonic games! But hey, that doesn't detract from the pleasure of discovering or rediscovering the video game world of Sonic. To conclude, even if it lacks originality, this Sonic Pocket Adventure is a good platform game to have on the Neo Geo Pocket Color! It is well worth 15/20
