Sonic and Knuckles review on Mega Drive
Sonic and Knuckles, here is an original episode of the Sonic saga, available on Sega Megadrive! Off to my little test!
At first glance, the game Sonic and Knuckles seemed to be an ultra classic episode, after 03 explosive first episodes of Sonic on Sega Megadrive (Sonic 1, 2 and 3). We could fear that Sega would take the easy route. In the end it was nothing, this Sonic and Knuckles was very original! Sonic and Knuckles therefore begins or ends Sonic 3. Knuckles makes his appearance in this game, and has very valuable abilities such as gliding, breaking walls, or climbing on scenery. Thanks to Knuckles it is therefore possible to go where Sonic would be unable to move. Casually, it brings a breath of fresh air, in the classic and proven handling of Sonic.
Like Sonic 3, this Sonic and Knuckles demonstrated that this Sega Megadrive really had it in its stomach!, no offense to Super Nintendo fans! This game is simply superb graphically and very fast as a good Sonic game requires! And what about the simply perfect gameplay! Sega really knew how to make good video games at the time! Let's not also forget the game music that rocked my childhood! If there was one thing to complain about in the game, it would be its somewhat short lifespan. In fact there are only 6 to 8 levels to go through depending on the character played. But be careful of appearances...
Indeed, when I bought this game, I was intrigued by the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge! Incredible we could insert another cartridge on top of Sonic and Knuckles!!! But are they crazy at Sega??? Well no! By inserting, for example, Sonic 2 or Sonic 3 on the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge, the Character Knuckles then appeared in the old Sonic games! And there, needless to say, the lifespan was increased tenfold in addition to rediscovering the old Sonics with Knuckles' abilities! What ingenuity from master Sega! This Sonic and Knuckles deserves a good 17/20!
