Should you buy the Nintendo Wii U? This question definitely deserves to be asked, because it is currently benefiting from significant price reductions compared to the new Nintendo Switch. My answer, you will see, will be clearly decided!
At the beginning of this article I thought I would offer you two parts, one in favor of purchasing the Nintendo Wii U and the other against the acquisition of this console. Finally, at the risk of being a bit subjective, I prefer to avoid this risky and useless purchase. Even if the Nintendo Wii U has some excellent titles, we cannot say that gamers have fond memories of this console. Complicated or boring asymmetrical gameplay, low battery life gamepad with obsolete technology and poor quality, technically outdated console and austere console interface, all of these elements have frankly handicapped this Nintendo Wii U. It's a shame because this Nintendo Wii U had some superb original games, like Zombi U, Mario Maker, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros, Lego City Undercover, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Zelda Breath Of The Wild. Unfortunately third party publishers did not support (rightly I think) this Nintendo Wii U. Game developers and the public did not understand the complicated and certainly unfinished concept of the Wii U. What was the Wii U? A new console? An expansion of the Nintendo Wii? Nobody understood this console. The lack of explanation and lousy marketing put this Wii U straight into the grave! No more major games are coming to this console, the online game as well as the various features are gradually being removed on Wii U. Nintendo is currently doing everything possible to forget this catastrophic Wii U at all levels.So yes my answer is frank and definitive, do not buy this Nintendo Wii U, even in a bundle with games. If you really want to buy it anyway, don't pay more than €40/50, beyond that it would be a scam, you have been warned! Choose a Nintendo Switch, you will have a blast on this console :)
