Should you buy the Nintendo Switch?

A few days before its detailed presentation on the internet, is it relevant to buy the Nintendo Switch? I think the question is worth asking, given the promises and expectations of this future console!

The Wii U is dead, long live the Nintendo Switch! We might as well be honest, despite the few hits that this Nintendo Wii U had, it was a bitter failure for Nintendo! Very complicated console concept (asymmetrical gameplay, poorly operated and optimized gamepad), disastrous marketing, and lack of support from third-party publishers. In addition to being technically weak, many people thought that the Wii U was a simple extension of the Wii, what a waste! Nintendo, which no longer has room for error, recently unveiled its next home console, the Nintendo Switch! So what is this console?

A hybrid console?

And yes, the next Nintendo Switch will be a “hybrid” console. It will firstly be a home console, but also and above all a portable console! It may seem simple and silly but no one has proposed this concept, “fully portable home console” until now! Frankly, this simple innovative idea will be of service to thousands of players (including me) wishing to progress in their video games outside the family home! You imagine you will be able to continue playing your game on transport, during a break at work, on vacation, but also at friends' houses!

A multiplayer console?

And yes! This will be the great strength of this Switch! The portable console has 2 joy-cons, so 2 controllers means 2 players per tablet! Knowing that we can play by connecting several tablets, we can have fun in local multiplayer at 04, 08, or even 16 players locally, let's be crazy! This switch should be a hit in e-sport! The living room part of the console will also be compatible with online gaming, hoping that it will catch up with the good experience of an Xbox Live and PSN.

A nostalgic console?

Indeed, the future Nintendo Switch will offer its video games on this good old cartridge support!!! Haha! You had to dare, but it’s not stupid! In fact, cartridges are much faster than optical media, say goodbye to endless loading times! Don't be afraid either, because in terms of storage capacities the cartridge has largely caught up with Blu-ray. The nostalgic trendy bobo effect will also be there, rhaaa playing on cartridges, what a pleasure :)

A technically weak console?

Yes and no, because what seems to be emerging in view of the rumors from insiders who cannot hold their tongues, is that the Nintendo Switch will be equipped with a personalized Nvidia Tegra graphics chip. It should release a teraflop in terms of power, more or less the equivalent of an Xbox One. So the Nintendo Switch will be the most technically powerful portable console, however, it will lag behind in its home console mode, especially compared to the PS4 Pro and the future Xbox Scorpio. But hey, power is nothing without mastery! Also be careful because no one at the moment can confirm their rumors of low power of the Switch, let's wait for its presentation on January 13!

A console supported by publishers?

At first glance, yes, this Nintendo Switch seems to please many third-party publishers!  It's nice! The notable entry of Bethesda into Nintendo is a pleasure, we can also count on Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Activision, Sega, Capcom, Nemco, Square Enix, 2k games, etc… Beautiful people in perspective! It’s understandable that publishers are attracted to this console! In fact they are going to develop a game for 02 consoles (portable and living room)! Less expensive development and simpler marketing!  It also seems that this Nintendo Switch is very easy to master to create games but above all it would be childish to port PS4 and Xbox One games! GGNintendo!

Any surprises to expect for this Switch?

Yes! Nintendo made it clear! They haven't revealed everything! We must expect many surprises during the presentation on January 13, 2017. There are rumors of customizable joy-cons, virtual reality compatibility, so be wary... Nintendo can spring a surprise!

Should you buy the Nintendo Switch?

My opinion is yes! I think you should buy the Nintendo Switch! Its simple and innovative concept deserves to succeed! This switch is both a home console and a portable one! It's great to be able to continue your game outside your living room, what a time saver, and what fun! This Switch seems intuitive, very fun to play solo as well as in local multiplayer, this console really makes me want it! For the price I think we can count on €250! I warn you in advance, for its release in March 2017, there will only be 2 million Switches for the whole world! That’s very, very little!  Beware of out of stock but especially of speculation (have you seen the crazy price of the Nintendo Classic Mini on Ebay and Amazon???). Be wary, consider reserving your Nintendo Switch or risk being without your console for many months...
