In this article I offer you my test of the Sega Game Gear Micro! So the smaller the cuter?
For its 60th anniversary, Sega wanted to mark the occasion! In order to properly celebrate the event, Sega will market an Astro City Mini, but above all a Sega Game Gear Micro! What a funny idea, a frankly rikiki version of its venerable Sega Game Gear? I found the idea so trollish that I decided to import one of these Sega Game Gear Micros from Japan :) . So here is my review of the Sega Game Gear Micro!
Honey I Shrunk The Game Gear
Honestly, when I saw the tiny size of the package, I said to myself that it was impossible that it was mine! I knew the Game Gear Micro would be small, but I didn't think that much lol. Clearly the game box fits in my hand haha ^^.
Once unpacked, my opinion hasn't changed! ThisSega Game Gear Microis really very very microscopic 😀 . In terms of appearance, it faithfully takes up the design of the battery-eating Game Gear :p. We find the directional cross the buttons, everything is there, nothing is missing!
Once in the “On” position I naively told myself that it had a small built-in battery! Well no! She lives up to her name as a battery eater!!! Yes ladies and gentlemen, the Sega Game Gear Micro requires 2 classic batteries! Well it's much less than the original console (fortunately^^) and it's very likely that this time the batteries will last a long time given the nanoscopic size of the screen 😀 . Well if you don't want to use batteries, you plug in the Sega Game Gear Micro via a Micro Usb cable and that's it :) . As a reminder, on the original Sega Game Gear we could also connect it with the big Sega Master System 2 plug block if I don't say anything stupid :p
What is the Game Gear Micro worth in terms of handling? Having small female hands (you have to remove the hair though lol) I'm doing well, and yes, it is possible to play with this Game Gear Micro! Well, on the other hand, if you have very virile lumberjack hands, you're going to struggle 😀 . I was also surprised by its extreme lightness. In terms of the screen, well, it’s still small lol. Honestly, it’s stupid because it’s good quality! It's bright and the colors are vibrant! Sound level it does the job and what a pleasure to hear Segaaaaaaaaaa 😀
Well, I don't know Japanese at all!, but luckily Sonic being a game known all over the world, I had no difficulty playing it :) . You'll think I'm crazy, but it's possible to play on a Sega Game Gear Micro, even without the official magnifying glass (sold separately, don't mess around lol). On the other hand, in terms of regrets, Master Sega is being stingy for once! Offer only 04 games??? That’s not cool :/ . I tell myself that it might be possible later to add a few little games :p. I also doubt the solidity of the console, given its small size! A console this small is scary, I'm afraid of seriously damaging it lol
My opinion on the Game Gear Micro!
This little, tiny little Sega Game Gear Micro is so cute! Despite its microscopic size, it is possible to play it even without the official magnifying glass lol but you also need to have small hands haha. In any case, this Sega Game Gear Micro is a very original collector's item for Sega's 60th anniversary. What a shame, however, to only offer 04 grrrr games
