Having loved Road 96, today I offer you the test of Road 96: Mile 0 on Xbox!
The procedural video game Road 96 was a touching road trip that I really enjoyed. We took turns playing a young runaway who tries to cross Route 96 in order to escape Petria, which is a totalitarian country. If you have never played this game I highly recommend you try it, it is available on Xbox Game Pass
Today I offer you my review of Road 96: Mile 0 thanks to the support ofPlaion, thanks to them 🙂 Road 96: Mile 0 (available on Xbox Series, Playstation 4/5 Nintendo Switch and PC) is the prequel to Road 96! In this game, we take turns playing as Zoe (who was an NPC from Road 96), or Kaito, a character from the musical runner type video game.Lost in Harmony.These two friends who are completely opposites will experience a heartbreaking adventure.
For once, I won't tell you anything about the story of this game, that would really spoil the experience. All I can tell you is that Road 96: Mile 0 mainly evokes the theme of friendship, but also populism and immigration.
Road 96: Mile 0 offers a mix between a narrative video game and a musical rhythm game. This mixture, certainly surprising at the start of the game, tastes rather good throughout this adventure! Some musical courses are crazy and bring a good dose of lightness to this beautiful multiple choice story that Road 96 Miles 0 offers. Pad in hand, you quickly get your bearings but you still need to have good reflexes and play in rhythm like in Hi-fi Rush. Concerning the narrative side, the gameplay is childish, we always move our character with the first person view in order to optimize immersion. We select our dialogues, our actions, we encounter passages in QTE (quick time event) and we progress.
Like Road 96, the graphics may seem sketchy and simplistic at first, but this game exudes a certain visual charm. Well, on the other hand, it is clear that Road 96: Mile 0 will not bring the Xbox Series, PS5 and PC to their knees, that's for sure. In addition, you have to deal with grrrr loading times! There is no doubt that this game is optimized so that it works on as many media as possible, such as the Nintendo Switch. I'm still going to play Rabat-joie, but what a shame not to offer a game fully dubbed in French, especially since the excellent video game studioDigiXartis French ^^. In short, I quibble but French is a very beautiful language! In terms of lifespan, the story is quickly completed, in two evenings I finished the game! But fortunately, replayability is there! Count on me to experience all the intrigues of this (beautiful) story.

With its Road 96: Mile 0, the DigiXart studio once again offers a great video game experience! This friendship between Zoé and Kaito is touching. This mix between a narrative video game and a rhythmic musical game is a real success! Thanks for this game!
