Review of Blue Stinger on Dreamcast
We tend to think that the Sega Dreamcast only had good games! Well no, here's a good guy, the aptly named Blue Stinger.
Too bad this Blue Stinger left with good intentions! A cinematic disaster scenario, a coherent survival horror style atmosphere, it looked good! Unfortunately the result did not live up to my expectations. In Blue Stinger, we play 2 different but complementary characters, namely Eliot Ballade and Dogs Bower. After an unexplained explosion, we find ourselves on “Dinosaur Island” and being unable to escape, we will have to survive and find out what is happening in these places! It must be recognized that in Blue Stinger, the developers have put all the effort into the cutscenes, graphics and soundscape! We easily immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of the game!
Unfortunately all is not rosy in Blue Stinger! The handling is completely poor! The movements of the characters make me think they have a broom up their butt! And what about the catastrophic 3rd person camera! We find ourselves at many moments with monsters that we had not seen because of this crappy camera! It really ruins everything! In a video game, maneuverability is very important! Now it's a failure! I also felt a great linearity in the progression of the adventure. Too bad because I expected a lot from Blue Stinger. I really strongly advise you not to invest in Blue Stinger on Dreamcast! You may regret it! I give it a 07/20 no more!
