Casually, our video game consoles are already 05 years old! And needless to say, the next generation PS5 and Xbox Two are slowly and surely being prepared! This is what future consoles could look like!

And yes our current consoles are 05 years old! And yet I have the impression that 2013 was still yesterday! How time flies! For me, if I had to take stock of this generation of consoles, it’ is that we had to wait until the middle of the career of these consoles to have exceptional games and this year will surely finally be memorable in terms of cult games. Anyway, back to business, what to expect for the PS5 and Xbox 2?

Microsoft brings out the heavy artillery!

At E3 2018 Microsoft formalized the creation of several future generations of Xbox. And yes, it is very likely that by the end of 2019 and beginning of 2020, Microsoft will release at least 02 Xboxes. The first will be more traditional and 100% hardware in line with the very successful XBox Scorpio. Basically, this console will be overpowering and will please the most demanding gamers in terms of graphics. It is also almost certain that this next Xbox will be backward compatible with Xbox One games. The second future Xbox will probably be much more affordable but will offer a remote video game streaming system. This system could be very nice for owners of fiber optic type connections! But that’s not all! To respond to the announcement of the Stream Google video games project via Chrome, Microsoft has made its Xcloud official! To put it simply, any medium (phone tablet PC) will be able to stream Xbox One games very conveniently from a simple 10 mega connection!  It's pretty crazy because normally you need optical fiber to be able to play in good conditions! We'll be able to play Xbox games anywhere, it'll be great! Start of Xcloud tests announced in 2O19 for release in 2020! To conclude, Microsoft is carefully preparing its next generation of consoles, particularly through acquisitions of video game studios, and will ensure that it has a solid but above all varied line up, which was sincerely lacking in the Xbox One. In terms of the price of the next Xboxes I feel 400/500€ for the traditional Xbox two and 150,200€ for the Xbox streaming console.

Sony is preparing its PS5!

Recently, Sony confirmed that there is a need to move to the next generation of video game consoles. Translation, anti-talk, Sony is preparing its Playstation 5.  In line with the PS4, this PS5 should probably be 100% hardware and for once, it should offer backward compatibility of games from old Sony consoles, particularly PS4 games. AND yes, given the very good reception of backwards compatible XBox games, Sony has every interest in getting involved. Hardware-wise, this next Playstation should pack a punch and will likely be as powerful as the future Xbox. Concerning the streaming of video games, the current PlayStation Now seems to suffer from a cautious catalog of games but above all from a streaming technique that is quite limited and at the same time demanding in terms of connection. The price of the subscription also does not seem to help the success of this Playstation Now. Perhaps Sony will review its copy in the coming years, regarding its streaming, so keep an eye on it! To conclude, what is certain is that as with its Playstation 4, Sony will release as many exclusives as possible in order to perpetuate its leadership. Concerning the Playstation 5 in terms of price, I am aiming for around €400/450.

The latest generation of consoles?

Yes, it's likely that the next PS5 and XBox Two will be the last traditional video game consoles. Make no mistake in the next 10 years, unfortunately for me, games will certainly only be streamed like films and series via the Netflix application. The way we consume video games will clearly change and we will have to get used to it. You will therefore have to take advantage of this Playstation 5 and XBox Two!
