My unforgettable day at Japan Expo!

Ah the Japan Expo, how I loved it so much last year! This visit today to the Japan Expo 2015 will remain forever engraved in my memory as a gamer, having had the chance to participate in the Master Class of a Great Mister, I named Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, an emblematic Nintendo character! Little summary of this magical day!

Up at 7:30 a.m., I dropped my little Wario off at daycare at 9:00 a.m., then there I was on public transport in stifling heat in the company of strange people. Hello! wait before you call me racist! In the RER car there were elves, princesses, various breeds of pokemon, as well as Link, Mario, and knights certainly from the Iron Throne! Is this heat the cause of these young people's disguises??? Well no, friends, everyone was going to the Japan Expo! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to dress up as my Sonic the Hedgehog outfit wasn't dry (sorry, I didn't have a more lame excuse).

10:00 a.m., the doors of the Japan Expo open, a magical and gigantic world opens up to me under the theme of Japan of course! Let's go for consultations of tons of manga (book, comic, DVD) as well as demonstrations of martial arts, archery, drawings, card games, role-playing, etc... I was able to admire the incredible work of certain cosplayers (people who dress up as heroes from manga, films, or video games), they must have spent a lot of time, they are truly passionate!  So I wandered around the different stands available in this exhibition. The least we can say is that there is something for everyone! We find pixel art, decorations, traditional Japanese clothing, ancestral weapons, drawings and portraits made by artists, goodies, posters, t-shirts, Japanese catering! There's plenty to do, it's really difficult or even impossible to do everything in 1 day! Let's not forget that video games have a very strong Japanese DNA, it goes without saying that many gaming stands were available with competitions notably on Splatoon, Super Smash Bros, Dance Dance revolution, Star Fox as well as tons of other games… We could also participate in various concerts, competitions and conferences. At the Japan Expo it is impossible or even unthinkable to get bored!

11:00 a.m., I eat like a grandfather of course, but I treat myself to giozas (Japanese dumplings). This is strategic, I absolutely don't want to miss Shigeru Miyamoto's Master Class! And I did well to take my precautions. At noon a queue was already huge in front of the conference hall, even though hostilities only started at 1:30 p.m.! Luckily, I found a great seat just a few meters from the conference. 1:30 p.m. Tension rises, the conference begins, I am very moved to see Shigeru Miyamoto arrive, whom I consider to be a very great man in the world of video games! He is the creator of Mario after all! It was magical, I didn’t see the time passing, I was dreaming like a child! Shigeru Miyamoto set the mood in this unforgettable masterclass! He spoke about Starfox, Mario Maker, as well as in a more personal way about his career and that of his collaborators! It was very moving but also very fun, Mister Miyamoto having a lot of humor! Special mention to the crazy creator of Splatoon who started spraying the audience with his water gun!!! I will never forget this conference, I am very happy and honored to have met Mario’s dad!

3:30 p.m., end of the masterclass, I take my time, I take advantage of the last hours to see the cosplay competition, I drool in the countless and superb stands of the Japan Expo, and I find a gift for my little Wario :D! As you can see, despite the stifling heat, I had a magnificent and incredible day at the Japan Expo!
