My Super Monaco GP test on Master System!
Here I am back in my childhood, because this Formula 1 racing game was one of my first video games! Here is my test of Super Monaco GP On Sega Master System!
It’s amazing to think how quickly time flies! I must have been 5 or 6 years old when I discovered Super Monaco GP on my Sega Master System! 25 years later (roughly speaking ^^) I finally offer you my test of Super Monaco GP On Sega Master System! Super Monaco GP is a Formula One game, originally from the legendary arcades! Its adaptation to Sega's 8-bit console, the Master System, unfortunately did not go very well! When I was 5 years old, the graphics were frankly secondary, so I didn't see at the time how technically austere and simplistic this game was. Today I realize that the Sega Master System could have done a lot better! This Super Monaco GP is unworthy of Sega's 8-bit console. All of the circuits look the same, only the background scenery changes in the end...
The gameplay of this Formula 1 racing game honestly wasn't any better. No feeling of speed, risky driving, AI with strawberries, we ended up off the track very quickly. What can we say about the soundtracks, playing them today makes you laugh at the poverty of the sound effects and the music, I've known much better! What saves this Super Monaco GP, without a doubt, is the 02 player split screen mode! It’s always nice to play with several people ^^. The small added value is also the Grand Prix mode which extends the lifespan of this racing game well. Despite these 02 good points, this Super Monaco GP remains a fairly disappointing Formula One racing game, on the Sega Master System. I advise you not to invest in this Super Monaco GP racing game, there are much better ones, fortunately, on the Sega 8-bit console!
