My review of the movie Shazam!

Little new thing on my video games blog, I offer you my opinion on certain films, just to vary the pleasures! So here is my review of the Movie Shazam! Happy reading!

Before starting this film review, I would like to particularly thank Française Des Jeux and Warner Bros. Consumer Products France who kindly invited me to a private screening of Shazam at the Warner premises. And yes, Française des Jeux, in partnership with Warner Bros, is developing digital games exploiting the DC Comics universe. They have 03 games includingBatman, Superman and Justice League. I had a blast this evening! (thank you for the aperitif before the screening :p). The welcome was great, thank you again FDJ!

ENGINE!!! ACTION!!!!

Being a regular at Super Hero films, I happily accepted this invitation.  On the other hand, “Shame On Me”, Shazam is a superhero that I didn’t know at all! This Shazam film was therefore the perfect opportunity to get to know this character from the DC Comics universe. And for once, this film tells the story of Shazam quite well, from his childhood to his adolescence with the rather comical ritual of learning his superpowers. The film lasts a little over 2 hours but I didn't notice the time passing. The actor who plays Shazam plays the role of the Badass teenager perfectly well but also endearing, due to his painful childhood, the latter being desperately looking for his mother. This good balance between schoolboy humor and the slightly more intimate moments of the main character gives a pleasant feeling of lightness to this superhero action adventure film. I was afraid that Shazam would sometimes be as heavy and trashy as Deadpool, but ultimately no, he remains very decent.  In terms of production, I found that this film was well shot, even if sometimes certain special effects were a little outdated. Regarding the acting, it's pretty decent. On the other hand, I find that the villain of the film is a bit cliché (limit a generic Lex Luthor) he tends to talk a lot, but then too much lol

SHAZAM!!!

The poster for this film explains that it only takes a simple word to become a superhero! It’s actually true! By shouting SHAZAM, the teenager transforms into this schoolboy but endearing superhero with many powers that would make Batman pale! If I have to give Shazam a review, I'm going to say that this movie is enjoyable without being amazing. In the category of superhero films it still lacks originality. In fact he doesn't take any risks and he scrupulously respects the specifications of a cool superhero film. However Shazam has the intelligence to be a light film, funny at times, but also touching due to the complicated adolescence of the main character. To conclude, I enjoyed this Shazam; it is certainly not a cult film, but it is still a good little family superhero film! Thanks again to the FDJ for this invitation 🙂
