My review of Sonic 3D on Sega Megadrive!
Today I offer you my little test of Sonic 3D on Sega Megadrive! What do you think of this episode in 03 dimensions?
This Sonic 3D will ultimately be the last episode available in the Sonic saga on the brilliant Sega Megadrive! Enough to end the legendary career of this superb console in style? Yes but no! Here is my review of Sonic 3D! In this episode of Sonic, our faithful hedgehog sees life in isometric 3D! AND yes, the ultra-fast 2D that made the first Sonic of the Sega Megadrive famous is over. Here everything is in O3 dimensions! It's quite impressive for the Sega Megadrive, I must admit, but it still lacks charm compared to the fabulous episodes in 02 dimensions… The principle of this Sonic 3D remains unchanged, namely progressing through several levels, divided into several acts, with as usual a fight with a boss at the end of each level! You don't change a winning team after all :) Here, Sonic, the only playable character in this episode, must save animals transformed into robots by the evil Eggman ^^
This Sonic 3D is accompanied by sound effects and music that are rather nice and respect the legacy of the Sonic saga. Now let's talk about the things that are annoying in this Sonic 3D because unfortunately it has a lot of flaws. For a Sonic game, this Sonic 3D is atrociously slow, certainly the fault of the old hardware of the Sega Megadrive. But that’s not all! The gameplay is chaotic! It's frankly not easy to control Sonic in this isometric 3D, and the actions on the controller are sorely lacking in responsiveness! It's not very pleasant to play in the end! Plus it's unfortunate that you can only play Sonic in this Sonic 3D! To conclude, what a shame that this Sonic 3D is slow and unwieldy, because this episode still had good ideas and its isometric three dimensions were nice. As you can see, Sonic 3D is far from being the best episode of the saga, too bad!
