My Nintendo Switch Review 1 year later!

I've been using this Nintendo Switch hybrid console for a year now, which allows me to play indoors and outdoors! Here is my Nintendo Switch Review 1 year later!

Already 1 year! Time definitely passes too quickly 🙁 And yes after 365 days of video games, here is my first assessment regarding this Nintendo Switch console! What is certain is that contrary to the dire predictions of the entire video game press regarding a probable commercial failure of this Nintendo Switch, they have all turned around! They cited a weak, limited console, a price that was too high with a weak game library. They all affirmed, loud and clear, that this hybrid console concept would not be a seller... Today the complete opposite happened! It goes to show that these experts aren't really good after all... The Nintendo Switch is a hit! She shatters all known records and her success today is insolent but above all incredible! Why such success? Here is my theory!

A user-friendly console to take anywhere!

And yes when it comes to a game console, we can say that it is easy to use thanks to its intuitive interface whatever the configuration (portable or living room). You can play it anywhere and that's really great! What a time saver, but above all what a pleasure! We can improvise tournaments with friends on Mario kart or Splatoon. You can embark on a magnificent adventure in Zelda Breath Of The Wild Or Skyrim! We can compete in Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle, or why not have fun watching Super Mario Odyssey! You can also fight in a fun way with the joy con on Arms, or more seriously on the indestructible Street Fighter 2! This Nintendo Switch is a video game console to put in everyone's hands! I will now discuss its strengths and weaknesses.

The highlights of the Nintendo Switch!

As I said above, its strong points are undoubtedly its simplicity, its user-friendliness, its multiple gameplay possibilities but above all its advantage of being a hybrid console! You can play it anywhere, either at home in living room or portable mode, or outside in portable mode without any constraints! What a brilliant and innovative concept! From a personal point of view, I love playing it in portable mode, whether I'm at home or out. What a joy to be able to play anywhere! Concerning the other strong points on Nintendo Switch, let's not also forget its in-house licenses (Nintendo quality) such as the captivating Zelda Breath Of The Wild which has won numerous awards but also Super Mario Odyssey which remains a sure value in terms of platform games without forgetting Mario Kart and Splatoon!

The weaknesses of the Nintendo Switch!

I'm not going to lie to you, technically this Nintendo Switch is frankly behind in comparison to the PS4, Xbox One and PC. With its aging Nvidia Tegra, and only 4 gigabytes of RAM, we can hardly hope for miracles. We see it anyway on multi-platform games. The Nintendo Switch never manages to do as well as the competition, especially in living room mode (rare 1080p and often 30 frames per second…). In portable mode it's better but it's not ecstasy either (720p or even less in resolution…). We have to face the facts.This version of the Nintendo Switch will never be able to accommodate big AAA games like The Witcher, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 etc.… At best we will have a frankly castrated version on Nintendo Switch and yes no miracle... What can we also say about all these old games that we play in remaster mode on Nintendo Switch!I'm fed upit's even worse than on PS4 and Xbox One. I'm fed up with this remaster generation!!! Even Nintendo is launching remaster mode! I want new games! I want innovation and for the moment that is far from being the case!

My Hopes for the Nintendo Switch!

Thanks to its insolent commercial success, I am hopeful that Nintendo will pull its fingers out of its butt, and throw us new video game bombs such as the next Metroid Prime and why not with the return of old cult sagas! Fingers crossed! I also hope that like Ubisoft with its Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle, other studios will dare to innovate and take risks by launching new video games exclusive to the potential of this very good Nintendo Switch. I also hope that Nintendo will launch a supercharged Nintendo Switch model! It will be necessary to at least double the RAM memory but also the storage and graphics capacities, this will not be a luxury! Let's hope that the Nintendo Switch will soon host major video games and that it pleasantly surprises us like the first day!To make my Nintendo Switch assessment, I no longer want remaster video games on this console, I want innovation and exclusivity but also a supercharged “Pro” Switch console!!! That’s not too much to ask, I hope? 🙂
