Lady Sapiens VR experience
I'm moving away a little from my classic articles which usually offer console and video game tests. Today I want to talk to you about Lady Sapiens, the VR experience offered at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris!
I had an appointment this morning to try a new virtual reality experience at thenational museum of natural history of Paris! I was asked to try the Lady Sapiens VR experience! You know I'm a big fan of virtual reality video games! I have around ten (twenty) games to try on my Playstation VR and I even gave in recently, picking up the Oculus Quest 2 last Black Friday!
In short, I digress, let's get back to our sheep (rather our mammoths). I had the chance to try this morningLady Sapiens VR experience! But what is it about? This virtual reality experience invites us to go back 38,000 years in the past and embody a Sapiens woman evolving within a tribe and participating in various activities such as painting, making a flint, and mammoth hunting! The directorCamille Duvelleroyimagined a VR experience that puts an end to clichés using scientific lessons from the documentaryLady Sapiens.This experiment aims to demonstrate that women and men were equally involved in the different tasks of the clan. In order to make this virtual reality experience immersive, Lady Sapiens VR uses the superb graphics of the Far Cry Primal video game! You know? The Far Cry of Prehistory! Shame On Me, I have it on PS4, I've never tried it yet!!! You can believe me, with the virtual reality headset and the two controllers reproducing our hands, Lady Sapiens VR is a stunning experience! You really feel like you're playing a Sapiens woman during this ten-minute experience. In addition to being immersive, Lady Sapiens VR offers several interactions with members of the clan. I thought that this virtual reality experience would only offer a contemplative report, ultimately these few interactions are fun and well thought out! I really had a great time throughout this Lady Sapiens VR experience. This idea of offering an interactive report in virtual reality increases the immersion tenfold but above all makes you want to learn more. It would be really nice if history books were transformed and offered virtual reality experiences. Clearly, I now want to play Far Cry primal 😀
Lady Sapiens VRis a co-production between Little Big Story, Little Big Story Lab, Ubisoft and France Télévisions (France TV StoryLab). Lady Sapiens VR is designed for a wide family audience, intended for natural history and science museums, prehistoric archaeological sites, in France and around the world.
The VR experience will soon be accessible to the public in the virtual cabinet of the National Museum of Natural History.
