Introduction to video games! How to get started, pad in hand!
Do you want to get started with video games? Here is my tutorial for beginners!
THERE is no age to discover video games. There is no shame in playing at 30, 40, 50 or even 99 years old! Do you see more and more loved ones around you playing video games? Do you want to try and get started? You'll see it's honestly not complicated, especially since video games are much more accessible than before. I offer you a short tutorial, for your introduction to video games. Obviously if you have epilepsy problems do not play video games, consult your doctor first.
The first question to ask yourself
What is your video game style?
And yes, you have to choose carefully when faced with the many types of video games. It would be a shame to buy a game that you don't like from the start. For example, if you like car games, the Forza Horizon saga could be a good introduction!
If your genre is platform video games, it would be better to start with a 2-dimensional Super Mario or Sonic. Start by mastering the pad-in-hand gameplay in 2D before moving on to 3 dimensions. Sonic Origins and New Super Mario U are good practical cases for getting started with the 2-dimensional platform. Then you can move on to three dimensions with Super Mario Odyssey for example, it is easy to learn.
Action/adventure games are your thing? The reboot of the Tomb Raider saga but also Uncharted 4 without forgetting the various Assassin’s Creed are excellent games for an introduction to video games, in fact they often have an easy mode.
Want to get into shooting games? Star Wars Battlefront 2, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Far Cry 5 and 6, and the Call Of Duty and Halo saga (in single player mode) can be an excellent introduction to FPS, they also have an easy mode for beginners. Start shooting games with single player mode, it's a good practice before moving on to multiplayer mode!
Want to get started with open world video games? If you like spaghetti westerns, play the Red Dead Redemption saga in single-player mode, it's an excellent introduction to this style of game. In the same type of open world game you have GTA IV, GTA V, The Witcher 3, and the Watch Dogs saga. At Nintendo it will obviously be Zelda Breath Of The Wild!
If you love sports games, you will obviously have to go through the Fifa box for the football game and for basketball it will be the NBA 2k saga, no doubt about it. For these games you often have to go through the training box but some also have a complete tutorial
For fighting games, they all have the same logic. The basic gameplay is simple for beginners but it is especially progressive for fighting game perfectionists. In short, with practice you will go from beginner to professional in fighting games. For fighting video games, I recommend the Street Fighter saga, Soul Calibur and Tekken.

Which console to start with video games?
Honestly, if you're new to video games and want to get started, there's no point in dropping too much money.The classic Nintendo Switchwill do just fine at Nintendo, you can play it both outside and at home. At Sony, take a small Playstation3 orPlayStation 4second-hand. This will be more than enough to get the hang of it. At Xbox, an Xbox 360 or Xbox One will more than do the job! It would be stupid to drop 500 or even 600€ if you don't like video games. I don't recommend playing on PC to start. In fact you have to install the games, adjust the different parameters, and play with the keyboard and mouse :-/ . Nothing beats a used (or new) video game console to get started! It’s simple intuitive and you can play immediately! Also remember to choose a game controller adapted to the size of your hands! THERE are specialized brands that offer smaller controllers!
Set up your game console correctly!
Obviously you plug in your video game console, turn it on and go through the update box so that your console has the latest features. Then you have to create your player profile whether at Playstation Xbox or Nintendo. Choose a nickname, do not enter your first and last names in order to maintain your anonymity. When creating the account you will need to provide a valid email address, and sometimes a mobile phone number. Choose a strong password when creating your gamer profile on your console. Basically it's a password containing 8 characters minimum, with an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol. Don't accept friend requests from people you don't know unless you've already played together and had a good time! Obviously remember to take breaks during your gaming sessions. Ideally 30 minutes of break during a 2-hour gaming session.
What to remember for an introduction to video games!
First choose a style of play that you like! Then buy a video game console at a low price or used or new. Make sure your video game is compatible with your console, get advice from a specialist if necessary. Once home, plug in your console, do the required updates, create your profile, and have fun :)
