HDMI for the Original Xbox

I wanted to replay games from my first Xbox on my new TV, unfortunately I no longer had a YUV socket :(. So here is a solution, the HDMI HD Link for the Xbox!

This will teach me to want to change TV. I hadn't even checked if it was equipped with a YUV socket. Unfortunately for me no, it didn't have YUV, just 3 HDMI ports! By launching the Enigmah software you can switch your Xbox to NTSC and then you can select in the video settings of the Xbox Dashboard, 480p, 720p, and 1080i. You will rediscover your games! Clearly I am amazed by certain games on my Xbox which now work in 720p like Soul Calibur II! I am impressed by the very good image quality (the colors are more vibrant) that this HDMI HD Link adapter offers for my Xbox! On the other hand, don't dream, aliasing and staircase effects will still be present! We're talking about an Xbox console from 2002 eh!!!

Obviouslythe HDMI HD Link adapteralso works if your Xbox is not modded. Only you will stay with the base resolution of the console in PAL Europe mode. Your games will be displayed, that’s always it :)

My verdict!

This HDMI HD Link adapter from Pound Technology is excellent! Of course it’s not cheap, it’s worth €40. But at this price, your Xbox, if it is mod like mine, will show you dozens and dozens of games in HD on your new 4K TV! It's worth the detour, you'll rediscover your games! For an unmodified classic Xbox, however, the HD Link HDMI adapter will display your games simply. It's up to you, maybe a Chinese adapter will do the same job but it's up to you to find 😀
