I had been looking for a small, ideal portable console for a long time to satisfy my retrogaming desires. At the time I had my venerable PSP which was rather resourceful in terms of emulations. So I looked around with our Chinese friends, and I discovered a portable console called GPD XD. Here is my GPD XD Test! We always tend to say that the Chinese copy everything they find and there is a saying “when you buy Chinese, you buy twice”. Indeed, I'm not going to lie to you, this GPD XD is a clone of the Nintendo 3DS, they look exactly the same! On the other hand, for the GPD XD it does not have a second screen. On the other hand, it is definitely faster than the Nintendo 3DS! See instead, 5-inch IPS touch screen, Android 4.4, Quad Core 1.8Ghz processor, 2GB of Ram + 16GB of storage and large 6000mAh battery. This GPD XD is pumped up! It has a personalized interface which I find to be rather simple and effective! It is equipped with 2 joysticks, a directional cross and many buttons that can be customized as desired depending on the emulators (very simple mapping)!
Frankly, this portable console exudes solidity and reliability. Incredibly, I tested the different emulators, and even Sega Dreamcast games, it manages to run them easily! I dreamed of a portable Sega Dreamcast, this GPD XD does it without any problem! What happiness! So for me, retrogaming games enhanced by this excellently crafted 5-inch IPS screen! I’m perfectly rediscovering my old video games! In addition, this GPD XD has the Google Play Store, so it is possible to play the entire Google games catalog as well as all other social or multimedia applications on this store! So I can also watch my films, listen to my music and read my documents! The icing on the cake is that this console has a very, very big battery! It is possible to play on it for more than 10 hours without any problem! I'm not going to draw you a picture, this GPD XD is for me the ultimate retrogaming portable console but also an Android multimedia device of excellent quality! The GPD XD, to try it is to adopt it!
