Buying a PS4 in 2023 2024 Good or bad idea?

Should you still buy a PS4 in 2023-2024? Here's what I think!

Casually, the PS4 has existed since November 2013, and yet today it still offers many video games, it would be a real shame to leave out this Playstation which clearly hasn't said its last word!

From a personal point of view, the Playstation 4 is probably one of the best Playstations of any generation. It has offered many video game hits including the incredible Uncharted 4, without forgetting The Last Of Part 1 and Part2, Red Dead Redemption 2, God Of War, GTA V, Horizon Zero Dawn / Forbidden West, The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, Marvel’s Spiderman, Spiderman Miles Morales, GTA V, Gran Turismo 7, Resident Evil 7, Days Gone… Just for its incredible single-player games, this Playstation 4 is still worth the detour in 2023-2024

And if you like multiplayer games, you will be in heaven with the countless Call Of Duty, Star Wars Battlefront, GTA Online, Fortnite, Fall Guys, Rocket League, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V, Overwatch, Ghost Recon Wildland, Raimbow Six Siege… It’s impossible to name all the multiplayer games because there are so many on this Playstation 4! Well, to play multiplayer, you have to add a Playstation + subscription, but it's not very expensive (€59/year) and you get 2 games/month in the subscription! It’s really interesting.

Also don't forget that the Playstation 4 is now available at a low second-hand price.You will easily find it at €149 with a 6-month warranty.. It’s much less expensive than a Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X at €500 or €550. So imagine second-hand PS4 games, it’s a gold mine! You will find video game hits without any worries for just a few euros! Clearly this PS4 can be a very good first games console for your children!

Visually, the Playstation 4 will still offer you a beautiful image with its HDMI output in 1080p full HD in 30 or 60 fps, it will depend on the video game. You won't have to worry even with a 4K television. PS4 games are still beautiful and splendid for some (rhaaa Uncharted 4 and The Last Of Us!!!).

Sony Playstation always offers updates for the operating system of its Playstation 4! The follow-up of this console is exemplary!

On the other hand, I recommend that you buy the PS4 Slim instead. Avoid the PS4 Pro. It will already be more expensive, because it is more powerful, but the downside is that it is very noisy in operation. The classic PS4 more than does the job!

Playstation still offers many games for its Playstation 4, but also third-party publishers. This is not surprising because the PS4 fleet is estimated at around 120 million video game consoles! That’s a lot of potential players! Clearly this PS4 is not ready to be abandoned.

If you find the PS4's storage space insufficient, you can easily opt for an internal SATA hard drive or an external one. There are many low-cost solutions to greatly increase the storage of this Playstation 4!

Buy a PS4 in 2023 2024 Yes? or No?

That’s a big yes for me! If you don't already have this Playstation 4, you can buy it with your eyes closed even in 2023 or 2024! Available second-hand without too much difficulty from €149, it's a great solution to the global inflation that we are all experiencing! A used PS4 can be a perfect springboard for your children if they want to get into video games at a low price.

You have understood, the Playstation 4 is frankly very, very far from being a has-been, on the contrary! It still has the support of Sony Playstation and third-party publishers, and this will last for quite a few years!
